T-Square Rack

Problem

When client:

  1. Enters room

What client expects:

  • T-Squares to have designated spot

What actually happens:

  • T-Squares are balanced on floor against cabinet, in the way
  • T-Squares fall when cabinet is bumped

Note

  • (None)

Solution

Supplies Used:

  • 3M Hook
    Make : 3M
    Series : Command
    Model : Small Wire Hooks
    UPC : 0-51141-99314-0
  • Duck Tape
    Make : Duck Brand
    Color : Fluorescent Green Citrus
    Model : 285582
  • Long Nose Marker
    Make : FastCap
Series : Long Nose Pattern Marker\
    Color : Gold
    URL : fastcap.com
  • Round Heavy Duty Felt Furniture Pads (TODO: Make / Model / UPC)

Steps Taken:

  1. (Should have) Apply Duck Tape behind where the T-Squares are going. Tape does not need to be precise as long as it is larger then the shadow.
  2. (Should have) Use Long Nose Marker to outline T-Squares
  3. (Should have) Use knife to trim the Duck Tape along the trace. Remove excess Duck Tape so only the shadow remains.
  4. Adhere 3M Hook so it lines up with the inner corner of the T-Squares
  5. Apply Felt Furniture Pads at base (and center if needed) to keep T-Squares from banging
  6. Label T-Square shadow (Poka Yoke)

Note:

  • I did these in the wrong order, so had to cut the Duck Tape shadow around the existing 3M Hook and Felt Furniture Pads
